Today I decided to have two recipes since they are both dishes are easy to make. Also, they are rather similar in how they are prepared. They are both cucumber side dishes and are equally tasty. One thing to note is that both dishes do have a bit of salt in them.
Creamy Dill Cucumber Salad
Ingredients
- 2-3 medium sized cucumbers
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 pint sour cream
- 1/3 teaspoon dill
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation
- Peel and slice cucumbers.
- Dice onion.
- Place cucumbers and onions in a shallow bowl and stir
- Pour salt over cucumbers and onions.
- Let stand for 1/2 hour.
- Add sour cream and dill and stir.
Tangy Cucumbers
Ingredients
- 2-3 medium sized cucumbers
- 1 small onion
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation
- Peel and slice cucumbers.
- Dice onion.
- Place cucumbers and onions in a shallow bowl and stir.
- Pour salt over cucumbers and onions.
- Let stand for 1/2 hour.
- Add evaporated milk and vinegar and stir.
Note: If you find the flavor strong, try adding a little sugar.
